oh really?

original idea by phibie mak =)
here is my point of view (as hobbyist) to all of you who are starting out in photography – 8 years ago, when i started photography as a hobby, IF i took the plunge by following certain “rules” *cough* namely like “oh this is how you hold your camera!” “learn about iso, shutter speed and aperture” etc etc etc without spending a certain amount of time to self explore – the most probable results – you wont be seeing what you are seeing in this website of mine.
instead, what i accidentally did was i enjoyed myself by self exploring. i was very stubborn and was not afraid to be laughed at (still am). with this sort of mentality, it gave me the confidence and determination to explore even more – when you have these elements, you’ll learn what you want to learn effectively, fearlessly. at a certain point of time, i hated to be labeled as a photographer because its irrelevant to me. i rather try my time to get the images i want than to be label as such.
so that being said – what does this entry means to you ? if you are hobbyist and just starting out – its a form of encouragement to push you to enjoy yourself. explore in the genre of photography you are in. make mistakes, because thats part of the learning process. if you want to read a little more in this subject matter in length, i posted a looong note in my facebook group
have loads of fun in your hobby.
