fuzzy & i are old friends.
i knew her since she was 16 (we buaya-ed her in IRC) and that should be about 10 years ago. i remembered that rainy weekday evening after work, i met up with her to have a pre-shoot discussion. prior to our meet, i scouted and secured the location - a vacant warehouse of a friend's friend. she will sort her outfits based on my email reccy shots.
"what do you have in mind?"
"raw & gritty"
"makeup?"
"no need la - raw wat"
"anything in mind for the sets?"
"usually, when we planned stuffs, things usually fucks up. we go fresstyle"
fuzzy was an art director for a magazine company with a few titles, so i did not ask further. we spent the rest of the evening, catching up.
we had a good time - fuzzy left me to my own device (not a single question asked on why i want to do this and that) and i had the opportunities to explore and discover what i previsualised.
what i learned from this shoot, from a hobbyist perspective - when you do not have / make unnecessary pressure on yourself (or if you control 'em), keep things simple and work from there, often you will get favourable results. kinda obvious but not that obvious when you are on set, preparing to shoot your set with a few 100 variables flying through your head. i remembered this shoot so clearly till today. theseĀ images were shot 3 years ago.
have a good weekend, everyone !
